Namaste
The divine in me bows to the divine in you
ADVAITA
The question is not
Who am I, but What am I
My highest goal, is to be goalless
until that time I'll accept imperfection
and for now that is perfect
"I don't know who I am, but my name is Martin"
My first ever Yoga teacher, Hans Wesseling, an amazing man, where I started my Hatha~Raja Yoga education in Amsterdam in 1998, very sadly though he died at the end of my first year at the too young age of 62.
Listening to him was like listening to music, and I was just always feeling totally at home with him.
He always used to say, think for yourself.
He told me some amazing things once in a private conversation.
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
An already long ago deceased teacher from the
Advaita tradition Navanath Sampradaya
who's writings have inspired me a lot over the years, and wish I could have met.
"Tat Tvam Asi, Aham Asmi Parabrahma "
(I am that, which precedes consciousness)
Mata Amritananda Mayi ~ or simply: 'Amma' ~
A still living enlightened woman, whom I had the pleasure of meeting in real life, and gave her a hug, (she is sometimes called the hugging guru). I approached her from a long line of waiting people, and sat down and hugged her, she whispered something in hindi in my ear, and I was instantly also enlightened for like two minutes after.
The pure joy of it is something I will never forget.
Jan Koehoorn ~ Advaita teacher ~
A wonderfully warmhearted and truly wise Dutch man.
I had the pleasure of at least meeting him once,
and communicated with him for many years
on his online facebook group forum.
His answers on any question will ultimately guide you towards self-realization :)
Vivian Elfrink ~ Advaita teacher ~
My first ever contact with Advaita is from visiting her Satsang's in Tilburg around 2002. (see page stories)
The most kindhearted beautiful inspiring and creative wise woman one could ever meet. I fell in love with her (platonic) as she had a partner and a young son then. We became really good friends for several years, until very sadly she died of cancer at a way too young age. (around 35)
~ Red Roses ~
~ for all the women in my life who I ever loved, love now, and will love in the future ~
My dear friend Rudy, forever in my heart and connected through time and space, of course with special mention of his amazing wife Angie, the purest loving woman.
and especially for the men ~ (or perhaps even some women) ~ Have a nice day :-)
